TROGIR
Trogir is one of a number of cities in Dalmatia that are under the protection of UNESCO, since 1997, and why it got on that list is best described by the city itself. Namely, Trogir was founded by the ancient Greeks, and with the passage of the century, it became the best preserved Romanesque-Gothic city in Europe. In fact, a real castle-museum.
In addition to well-preserved walls, towers and city gates, here you can see the beautiful city palaces, numerous churches and monasteries, as well as the cathedral with a unique portal.
Apart from cultural tourism, Trogir also offers gastronomic pleasures and the 'real' summer tourism - clean sea and beautiful beaches, which are located not only around the city but also on the nearby island of Ciovo.
SPLIT
Split, the largest Croatian coastal city, is a real tourist pearl. This is revealed every year by more and more guests, who visit this city of rich heritage.
Croatian tourism has been growing and advancing for a long time without much of the share of the largest coastal city. Split has always been a major transit center (moreover, it is one of the largest passenger ports in the Mediterranean), but also a place where you stayed for a short time and continued your journey to one of the other coastal destinations or Dalmatian islands. Mostly a short tour of Diocletian's Palace, which is very close to the bus / train station and the port, and that's it.
No wonder, because the 'most beautiful city in the world', as its inhabitants like to call it, really has something to offer. Diocletian's Palace is beautifully preserved and is a unique monumental complex in the world, which has reached the UNESCO World Heritage List. The historic core, mostly developed inside the Palace, is full of attractive sights - from the world's oldest cathedral, through Diocletian's unique cellars to Split's 'living room'.
